Just Like Apple iTunes, Google Introduced Google Play

Before the much hyped Apple’s iPad HD (or iPad 3?) event, Google introduced a new cloud based media platform called Google Play which is similar to Apple’s iTunes. Google Play will be the users’ one place shop for movies, music, apps, games and books. The giant integrated the current Android Market, Google Music too into this new service.

And similar to Apple’s iCloud, Google said on its official blog post that all your purchased content will be backed up automatically so there is no need to worry about losing your purchases.

To celebrate the promotion, Google will be offering a different album, book, video rental and Android app at a special price each day for the next week in ‘7 Days to Play’ sale.

Head over to the Google Play link for more exciting content and features.

For those who are not developers or unfamiliar with the concept, the 'UDID' allows developers to identify app users on a specific device by device basis. Many apps and mobile ad networks use the UDID or hashed version to keep track of who their users are and what actions they have taken. As Techcrunch points , App publishers and developers are now supposed to create their own unique identifiers to keep track of users going forward, which means they may have to throw all of their historical user date out of the window and start from scracth again. Apple describes the change in its developer documentation: Deprecated in iOS 5.0 uniqueIdentifier An alphanumeric string unique to each device based on various hardware details. (read-only) (Deprecated in iOS 5.0. Instead, create a unique identifier specific to your app.) This major...
