Apple is 5th Most Innovative Company for Forbes. Google is #7. Microsoft #86.

Forbes has put together a list of the World’s most Innovative Companies. Salesforce.com leading the list, followed by Amazon.com, Infosys on number 15 and Bharat Heavy Electricals on #9.

Apple is #5 and interestingly Google is seventh most innovative company in the world. Steve Jobs best friend’s company Oracle is 77th and the giant Microsoft is far down the list on 86th.

So, what is the measure for this Forbes list?

Forbes calls it the five skills of disruptive innovators as below:

Questioning allows innovators to challenge the status quo and consider new possibilities.

Observing helps innovators detect small details—in the activities of customers, suppliers and other companies—that suggest new ways of doing things.

Networking permits innovators to gain radically different perspectives from individuals with diverse backgrounds.

Experimenting prompts innovators to relentlessly try out new experiences, take things apart and test new ideas.

Associational thinking—drawing connections among questions, problems or ideas from unrelated fields—is triggered by questioning, observing, networking and experimenting and is the catalyst for creative ideas.

Google Wallet: The Future Innovative Mobile Payments

Earlier few months, Google unveiled future innovative way of payment technology – Google Wallet. Today, Google released its first version of the Android app with Sprint Nexus S 4G phones through an over the air update. Google Wallet is an app that lets you pay for things using your phone, either by tying your credit card or gift or pre-paid cards. It works using an near field communication (NFC) embedded chip and there is no swiping required.   According to Techcrunch , Google Wallet will not work everywhere your credit card will.
