SkyFire Pulled out From Apple Store within 5 hours

As I mentioned earlier, Flash on iPhone or iPod touches and similar iOS devices is possible through world’s hottest mobile browser – SkyFire.

The beauty of SkyFire is you can watch videos including Flash while browsing your favourite sites. It has private browsing and user agent switching modes too.
Apple took 2 months to approve SkyFire in App Store – but only took them a few hours to pull the plug on this app that converts Flash content to HTML5.
Why do you think SkyFire was taken down? According to SkyFire blog, the popularity of the app is costing them a fortune in bandwidth, which is necessary to convert the videos from Flash to HTML5.
Skyfire for iPhone has been received with unbelievable enthusiasm. Despite our best attempts and predictions, the demand far exceeds our initial projections.
The user experience was performing well for the first few hours, but as the surge continued, the peak load on our servers and bandwidth caused the video experience to degrade.
Thus we are effectively ‘sold out’ and will temporarily not accept new purchases from the App Store.  We are working really hard to increase capacity and will be accepting new purchases from the App Store as soon as we can support it.
We are very grateful for the demand. Within 5 hours, Skyfire for iPhone became the top grossing app, the third highest paid app overall and the top application in the Utilities category. Wow!

Breaking: Microsoft India Store Has Been Hacked. Passwords In Plain Text Format Exposed [Update]

Well, this is huge! Microsoft’s India online store website has been hacked and all user information which was stored in plain text format without any encryption has also been exposed. It looks like the hacker team got remote access to the whole web server. The main reasons behind this hack are still unknown but from the homepage replaced information, its been predicted that a non well known hacker organization EvilShadow is behind all this invasion.     Microsoft pulled out the store page right now and might be working on this to get back the site. The unacceptable thing in all this story is that the software giant stored all the user information including passwords in the database in plain text without any encryption for such online shopping site. Windows Phone 7.5 Tango Officially Renamed As ‘Refresh’

The next version of Microsoft’s Windows Phone operating system after Mango 7.1 is officially renamed as ‘Windows Phone 7.5 Refresh’ – according to the head of Windows Phone division for Microsoft Italy.     According to Italian version of the post , 7.5 Refresh update will mostly be an update to the minimum specs of the devices it’ll be able to run (minimum RAM requirements is dropped from 512 MB to 256 MB). Other updates which may include in this release are better media messaging, location awareness icon, export and manage contacts to SIM card. The next major update after ‘Refresh’ is called Windows Phone Apollo (probably Windows Phone 8) could certainly be an exciting release from Microsoft.
